A CIDADE LEMBRA I & II

A Cidade Lembra I and A Cidade Lembra II form an intervention of almost eight metres of hand embroidery, created for the façade of Estação das Artes in Mirandela. The works emerge from an attentive reading of the territory — its landscapes, stone, water, legends and the memories that remain inscribed in place. By occupying public space, the Arraiolos stitch moves beyond the domestic scale and enters into direct dialogue with art and architecture. Built slowly, stitch by stitch, the panels begin with a simple idea: cities remember, and remembering takes time.
