Also inspired by the legends of the enchanted Moorish women of Mirandela, Pietà connects feminine strength with the universal gesture of holding and supporting a wounded body. Vulnerability and resistance coexist in a work about care, loss and the wounds carried by both people and territories. Care cannot undo what has happened, but it can prevent pain from being endured alone.
