Invited by Contextile — Contemporary Textile Art Biennial, Susana Cereja was one of five Portuguese artists selected to take part in the group exhibition “Portuguese Textile Art”, presented at the Itchimbía Cultural Centre in Quito, Ecuador, alongside Cindy Steiler, Joana BC, Prudência Coimbra and Susana Pires. Opening on 28 November 2025, the exhibition emerged from a dialogue between Portugal and Ecuador around contemporary textile art and the craft traditions of both territories. Susana travelled to Quito during the preparation of the exhibition, taking part in its installation and opening, within a wider context of exchange that included encounters and activities with local artists, artisans and communities. The initiative aimed to promote Portuguese contemporary textile art internationally while creating new connections between textile practices, techniques and cultures.
