SUSANA CEREJA: “HÁ MUITO QUE EU DESEJAVA UM MOMENTO COMO ESTE”

LuxWOMAN interviewed Susana Cereja following her invitation to BIEN 2023 in Slovenia and her participation in PENINSULARES. The conversation looks at the three-week residency in Kranj, the creation and presentation of HELIA, the solo exhibition ICARUS — A JOURNEY IN SEARCH OF THE SUN and the Arraiolos workshop developed alongside the biennial.

Susana also discusses the recurring themes of technical exploration and women in her work, the decision to interpret the Sun in HELIA as a feminine, life-giving presence, her early path through drawing and architecture and the ambitions that were shaping the next stage of her career.
