UNFOLDING — A CREATIVE PROCESS TRAIL

For.Ever Art Gallery held the exhibition "Unfolding - A Creative Process Trail" by the young Portuguese artist Susana Cereja from November 4, 2020 to February 26, 2021. This exhibition shows the multidisciplinary nature of a work where research, diversity and versatility of media have a predominant character. Through this, Susana Cereja presents us with a renewed view at the recovery and development of ancestral methods of artistic production. Woodcut, polychrome plaster and Arraiolos stitch (technique used in the production of tapestry) are some of the methods it recovers for the field of contemporary art, returning it to the place of excellence that it once occupied in Portuguese culture. Patent until 26 February 2021, “Unfolding” is a testament to the heterogeneous creative process, which Susana Cereja developed between 2017 and today. Through the 30 works that make up this exhibition, we go through, work by work, the different disciplines and techniques that the artist has been working on year after year, and, inside the exhibition, we reach, in its term, imperiously, “Headway”, which in its composite complexity, takes the place and condition of an epilogue.
